Young entrepreneurs aged between 18 and 31 can apply to the YUZZ “Jóvenes con Ideas” 2016-2017 programme until next 2 December. The programme will be held at Deusto Business School Madrid. Registration must be made via web (www.yuzz.org), and 20 projects will be chosen for the programme.
Bank Santander, through the Santander Universities Division, and coordinated by the Santander International Entrepreneurship Centre (CISE), with the support of 50 Spanish educational institutions, is fostering this initiative.
Deusto Business School joined the program in 2014 with the aim of boosting the entrepreneurial spirit among high potential youth, while becoming one of the most sought after centres in Spain.
Selected projects will have access to the co-working space at the business school’s premises in Madrid (Castelló 76), where they will work together to develop ideas, interact with other entrepreneurs and receive personalised advice and training from a network of more than 200 experts on innovation and business models.
At the end of the training process, the author of the winning project from YUZZ Deusto Business School, together with other winners from the rest of Spain, will travel to Silicon Valley. At this leading international benchmark in innovation and entrepreneurship, they will be able to access financing forums, advice on internationalization and investor contacts. In addition, the three best projects will receive 30,000, 20,000 and 10,000 euros respectively to accelerate development of their business.
In collaboration with the E&Y Foundation, the programme also includes the YUZZ Woman Award, which offers 20,000 euros to finance the best project led by a woman entrepreneur and the support of E&Y consultants to develop it.
A springboard for new ideas
The Santander YUZZ project began in 2009 with two centres, one in Barcelona and another in Madrid, as a technology-based business nursery for big ideas. It has grown exponentially since then, and with the support of Santander Universities and the leadership of CISE, has expanded to 50 centres throughout Spain with more than 1,000 participants per edition.
The Santander YUZZ project is also supported by a number of universities throughout Spain and partner institutions such as Indra, Tuenti, Intel, Organization of Ibero-American States, Secot, FPdGi, E & Y Foundation and RedEmprendia.
Internationalisation
Another novelty of this year’s programme is its upcoming international launch, beginning with the first Santander YUZZ centre in Argentina. The aim is the expansion of Santander YUZZ to other countries in America and Europe through Santander Universities to strengthen synergies among entrepreneurs from all over the world, and thus contribute to the economic growth, innovation and progress of individuals and companies.
