It is estimated that by 2031, 46.5% of the population will be over 55 years of age in Gipuzkoa. This ageing society trend poses a series of challenges and opportunities for which our territory is already preparing for. It is in this context, that the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa organised the Adinberri Congress: Challenges and Opportunities for Healthy Ageing on 22 and 23 November 2018 in San Sebastián.
It offered a platform to analyse and discuss the ageing societies challenge in all its components: from innovation in attention and care, to the silver economy as a driving force for economic activity in Gipuzkoa. Various members of the Ageing and Wellbeing Interdisciplinary Research Platform were present and spoke at the event.
