This book is issue 23 of the“Erlijio Kulturaren Bilduma”collection, which is published by the Faculty of Theology at the University of Deusto. It is made up of original theology texts in Basque or translated into it. The book format is 150x220, and it consists of 1,002 pages. It is bound in hard cover and it has been edited by Dionisio Amundarain (OSB). This is the first time that a book of this kind has been published in Basque.
The reason for this book lies in the fact that, in the past, the Basque faithful had a manual missal, that of Orixe. But, following Vatican II, it was discarded and the faithful found themselves without a manual missal in Basque. There are Bibles in Basque, but there is not a full manual missal in Basque. This is the reason why this book was published as a preliminary book until a full manual missal in Basque is released.
