Nowadays, concepts such as corporate total quality management, control of production equipment, a healthy working environment, and communicative and motivating management of workers, are usual terms in the jargon of business people and executives, not only due to a higher corporate social responsibility, but also to a proven concept of economic profitability.Psychosocial risks and their prevention, the treatment of the burnout syndrome, of physical and psychic exhaustion among professionals (above all those in the educational, social and public health fields), have been dealt with within a system based on advice, reflection, and learning focused on guidance, supervision and coaching.
Advice and mediation in the workplace have been carried out in Central Europe for decades now as a response, on the one hand, to psychosocial risks and, on the other hand, to the demands for quality and excellence in products and services. In this regard, the development of the ISO rules have corroborated both the need and the demand to ensure the quality in human resource management through a series of rules and the compliance with procedural processes and systems in the workplace, in companies and organisations as a whole.
With this specialisation course in guidance, supervision and coaching, the University seeks to train experts able to deal with professionals in the field of conflicts, relationships and in the performance of their tasks at a level of excellence in the workplace, to strengthen functional links and the cohesion of work teams, to reinforce managerial capacity in such relevant fields as the public health, social and educational contexts, but also in other productive organisations and companies in general. To carry out this new and innovative project, the University of Deusto is supported by the experience gained by Gingko Asesoramiento y Desarrollo Personal consultancy firm, which as a continuation of the Mitxelena Navarre Association for Supervision, has been a pioneer in consultancy training in Spain. Therefore, this ensures, on the one hand, the quality of training by highly-qualified academic staff at national and international level and, on the other hand, the international recognition through the European Organisation ANSE (Association of National Organisations of Supervision in Europe), based in Vienna, Austria.
