Bilbao Campus
This is the first time that a National University Bookcrossing is held, which means that, on this same day, 58 universities and research centres will ?leave? books ?in the case of Deusto, they will be left behind at different locations on the university campus- so that other people can find them, read them and ?release? them again. This initiative, which is hosted by the Spanish Association of University Publishers, will ?release? over 200 titles in order to promote reading. What is interesting is the book?s ?journey? from reader to reader before it reached them.In order to track the journey each book has taken, it must be previously registered and identified on a bookcrossing database.
Deusto plans to ?leave? copies of some of its best-selling books: ?Los Jardines de la Antigüedad?, ?Claves de Hermeneútica?, ?Historia del pensamiento filosófico Latinoamericano: una búsqueda incesante de la identidad? and ?Las metamorfosis o el Asno de oro?.
The global bookcrossing movement was founded in 2001 by the American Ron Hornbaker. The principle behind it is to reach readers, attract them and arouse their curiosity and interest in valuable works published by Spanish universities, which provide not only entertainment but also knowledge and thought.
