The UD participates as a member in OBREAL, an Observatory of Europan Union-Latin America Relations, created by the European Commission.

The University of Deusto, through its UNESCO Chair in Human Resource Training for Latin America, is taking part as a member in the research and studies carried out by OBREAL, an Observatory of European Union-Latin America Relations, created by the European Commission. This Observatory is a network made up of 23 academic institutions and research centres in the European Union and Latin America, in response to a call by the European Commission.News

The main work areas of this Observatory are: the trade and financial relations and regional integration, democracy, human rights, social and development cooperation, global governability and multiregionalism, civil society and institutional strengthening. In addition, there are currently two research groups led by the UD on Dispute Resolution (with the participation of the PhD programme in Migrations and conflict in global society), and on social and solidarity economy (with the participation of the Institute of Cooperative Studies).
