Professor Asunción Fernández-Villarán, Chair of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at the University of Deusto, has received a special mention at the 2025 Euskadi (Basque) Awards for Tourism, Commerce, and Consumer Affairs, awarded by the Basque Government’s Department of Tourism, Commerce, and Consumer Affairs. Her nomination was supported by the Department of Transport, Mobility, and Tourism of the Provincial Council of Biscay.
The award, granted by Order of the Regional Minister Javier Hurtado and published in the Official Gazette of the Basque Country on 19 November, was presented yesterday, 20 November, at 19:30, at the Gala held at the Europa Conference Centre in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
The Faculty of Social and Human Sciences celebrates this well-deserved recognition, which highlights Professor Fernández-Villarán’s academic and professional career and her contribution to the development and excellence of the tourism sector.
