The conclusions reveal the new reality that hovers over our society and our economy with the arrival of this technology, and the consequences this will have on the Spanish corporate fabric. These conclusions were presented by Mr. Uzi Landman, Feyman Prize in Nanotechnology, Lecturer at the Centre for Computational Science, Georgia, Atlanta, USA. Other speakers included: the Director of Technology of the Basque Government, Joseba Jaureguizar, who spoke about the Basque strategy regarding nanotechnologies.
Nanotecnology is a series of multidisciplinary techniques that are used to manipulate matter at an atomic and molecular scale. It can be applied to different fields, especially those related to materials, electronics, biomedicine and energy. More resistant materials, faster and more powerful computers, more effective medical research and diagnoses, with a greater ability to respond to new diseases, an increase in low-cost and environmentally-friendly energy, are some of the examples of how nanotechnology will be able to revolutionise the potential in many fields as we see them today.
