The second day of the undergraduate graduation ceremony on the Bilbao campus was for new graduates of the double degrees in Business Administration and Management + Industrial Technology Engineering and Business Administration and Management + Law.

This ceremony was held on 2 March in the Ceremonial Hall at the University of Deusto. Prior to that, a Mass was held in the Gothic chapel, concelebrated by the Rector Juan José Etxeberria and Peio Azpitarte, at which former students María Dalmau and Ana Urribarri took the floor.

On this occasion, Amaia Méndez, Secretary of the Faculty of Engineering, conducted the event. First, Ane Vázquez (Business Administration + Industrial Technology Engineering) spoke on behalf of her class to recall her university experience, marked by the pandemic and post covid.

The Dean of Deusto Business School, Álvaro de la Rica, and the Dean of Deusto Law School, Gema Tomás, also addressed the new graduates. The graduation ceremony began with the solemn declaration made by two new graduates, Koldo González Moran, from BAM + Law, and Ander Martínez Sagarna, from BAM+ Industrial Technology Engineering, in Spanish and Basque, respectively. After the awarding of the graduation stoles by the Dean of Deusto Business School, Álvaro de la Rica, the Dean of Deusto Law School, Gema Tomás and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Asier Perallos, each new graduate was named to receive his or her academic degree.

The president of Deusto Business Alumni, Antón Azlor, also took the floor to congratulate them and invite them to become members of this association, which is their link with the university and with their fellow students.

Afterwards, several prizes were awarded to the final degree projects. On the one hand, Professor Iñaki García Quintanilla presented the prize for the best Industrial Technology Engineering project to Iñigo Garmendia for his project entitled "Design of an Agrovoltaic Installation". On the other hand, the president of the Bernaola Foundation, Víctor Múgica, presented the Rafael Álvarez 2023 awards, in their ninth year. The best end-of-degree project in the Business Administration and Management degree and in the ESG category went to Agrovolt, S.L., a project for the creation of a new company devised by Iñigo García de Eulate, Ander Martínez Sagarna, Iñigo Busto and Iñigo Garmendia. The runner-up prize went to the project Ecoprint 3D, S.L. by Julene Uribarri, Asier Aurrekoetxea, Jaime Billón and Iker Landeta.

Before sharing some light refreshments in the cloister, all those attending could hear a few words from the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Asier Perallos. He spoke about the guidance and support that Deusto students receive, the values it promotes, which take shape in subjects such as human values education, the social projects in which students can participate and the Arrupe grants. Perallos congratulated the new graduates and encouraged them to transform the world." You are competent and committed people. You have youth, strength, enthusiasm and excellent career prospects. You are capable of great things, so the future is yours. Go for it with confidence," he concluded.
