On 7 May, the Barakaldo City Council brought to a close the 60-hour Artificial Intelligence course aimed at people over 65, an initiative developed in collaboration with the University of Deusto. The workshop, delivered by students from the Engineering and Education degrees, involved 30 participants and ran from February to May.
This training programme has been recognised as a best practice by the Basque Innovation Agency, Innobasque, for its innovative approach to active ageing and for promoting intergenerational learning. Throughout the sessions, participants have become familiar with AI tools for generating text, images, voice, music, and videos, while reflecting on the impact of these technologies and enhancing their creativity.
The course has not only enabled participants to acquire emerging digital skills but has also created a space for mutual learning and connection between generations, promoting a more inclusive society prepared to face today’s technological challenges.
