On 27 June, Deusto brought the latest edition of the Dual Master’s in Automotive Design and Manufacturing to a close. This university programme, closely linked to companies and technological research and innovation centres, stands out for offering students a dual training model in collaboration with leading international, national, and local companies across the automotive value chain. The course is built around real challenges proposed by the programme’s partner organisations.

The new graduating class is made up of 17 participants in this pioneering programme, designed to address today’s key challenges in the automotive sector in three areas: namely lightweighting, advanced manufacturing, and virtual prototyping. The farewell event was attended by Álvaro Díaz de Guereñu, Innovation Director at Rubí Automotive-Runinnova, who gave a talk on "The challenges of the future of the automotive sector".

The event also featured testimonials from students on the programme, representatives from the companies where they completed their dual placements, and faculty members, all of whom shared their experiences. The event also included contributions from Cecilia Medina, Head of Innovation & Talent at Sernauto; Andoni Eguíluz, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; María Lambarri, Director of URAES (University Unit for Relations with Economic and Social Agents); and Jon García Barruetabeña, Director of the Master’s programme.

Since its first edition, the Master’s has welcomed 125 students, working in collaboration with 24 organisations and more than 110 contributing professionals. Over the years, 25 real-world challenges and 125 projects have been developed, amounting to a total of 74,000 hours of work across more than 30 companies involved in the programme since its launch.
