The Executive Programme in Financial Management (PEDF), organised jointly by the Deusto Business School and ELKARGI SGR, got underway last Friday. There are 17 participants on this new PEDF, which started on 3rd February and will run until November 2017.
Emilio Ontiveros, President of AFI and PEDF lecturer, was in charge of the programme’s opening lecture. Titled “The Economy and Global Geopolitical Uncertainty”, he provided an interesting lecture in the Graduates’ Hall at the Donostia campus of the University of Deusto.
The President of AFI (International Financial Analysts) spelled out the keys to the world economy resulting from the geopolitical changes that are taking place worldwide - ranging from protectionism driven by the new US President to development of the economy of the Asian giant (China) and including European and Eurozone economic policies, as well as the consequences of Brexit.
Using specific examples of economic macro indicators, the lecturer exercised caution with regard to the economic prospects for 2017. After completing the presentation, Emilio Ontiveros answered questions from attendees, resulting in an interesting debate between lecturer and those present.
9 years training financial leaders
This year in 2017 is the 9th anniversary since the Deusto Business School, in partnership with ELKARGI SGR., launched its financial programme for executives. This year, 17 participants from different companies and institutions are taking part in the Executive Programme in Financial Management.
The PEDF is designed with a view to providing its participants with solid, up-to-date financial training via a global view of the company that is geared towards leading the organisation’s financial strategy, thus helping to create value via the financial function.
The PEDF teaching team comprises top level professionals who are experts in different subjects: staff lecturers from the Deusto Business School, guest lecturers from different universities and ELKARGI SGR professionals.
