The University of Deusto hosted the last plenary session of the SIMPATICO project "Simplifying Interaction with Public Administrations through Information Technology for Citizens and Companies" on 16 and 17 October 2018. This meeting marks the final stage of the SIMPATICO project, which aims to improve the experience of citizens and businesses in their daily interactions with public administration, by facilitating the provision of digital administrative services via a more accessible web through cognitive technologies.
In order to meet its objectives, SIMPATICO has developed a solution combining emerging technologies for language processing and machine learning with the wisdom of the crowd (represented by the collaborative contributions of citizens, business and civil servants) to help and democratise the way citizens interact with public administration.
These are some examples of the electronic services selected in the pilot carried out with the Xunta de Galicia and benefiting of SIMPATICO technologies:
- BS607A - Wellness Program in health resorts - so that retired people can apply for a place in the Galician health resorts;
- BS613B - Individual aid for the acquisition of services for the promotion of personal autonomy and for the acquisition of complementary personal assistance services for persons with disabilities;
- BS611A - Recognition of the degree of disability. In the case of Galicia, the groups to whom these online processing services have been targeted at are elderly people and people with functional disabilities.
