AMETIC, the Spanish Association representing the digital technology industry, has chosen the 20 finalists of the 83 projects presented in the first edition of the 'Digital Skills Awards Spain 2018'. These awards, created in the framework of the European Commission Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition, aim to recognise and reward projects that boost skills and digital transformation.
Among these finalists there is the INSPIRA STEAM project aimed at promoting the scientific-technological vocation among girls. Supported by the University of Deusto, it counts with the collaboration of Innobasque and the financial support of the three provincial councils: Biscay, Gipuzkoa and Álava as well as BBK.
For the selection of projects, the jury has taken into account a series of criterion such as: impact (capacity to solve a major gap); scalability (capacity to expand to a greater diversity of options, functionalities, subjects); replicability (capacity to apply to other sectors, environments, niches ...); originality (capacity for creation and development); and clarity of presentation.
The awards target educational centers, universities, media, companies and public and private institutions that carry out training projects related to the development of digital talent and training in technological skills.
In total there will be five awards and there may be up to three honorable mentions for each category. They will be delivered at the Forum Alliance for the Development of Digital Talent, which will take place on June 20 at the NH Collection Eurobuilding in Madrid.
