At present, we live and work predominantly in urban environments, where a large part of economic activity, leisure and innovation takes places. Improving the future of cities is a challenge that goes beyond the professional field. The world is changing rapidly and we are facing new social, economic and environmental challenges that must be immediately addressed.

On 8 May 2019, the University of Deusto hosted the conference “The future of citizens. The smart city at the service of the citizen” and discussed how technology can and should play a very important role in preserving the human dimension of cities. The conference counted with the participation of Roberto San Salvador, director of the Deusto Cities Lab Chair, and Alberto Bernal, Smart Cities Global Director at Indra Minsait.
