The rector of the University of Deusto, José María Guibert and the territorial director of CaixaBank in the Basque Country and Cantabria, Juan Pedro Badiola, have renewed the agreement that unites the two entities to promote the DeustoBide - School of Citizenship project.
The collaboration between both institutions began in 2008. As result of a collaborative work between the different faculties, institutes, centers and research teams of the University of Deusto and together with the Social Work "la Caixa", DeustoBide has distinguished itself as a privileged space for dialogue and foster democratic values that contribute to a greater cultural development and the wellbeing of society.
Among the initiatives developed by DeustoBide, there are some activities with a long tradition and new ones that are consolidating. In its training offer, there are different multi-year programmes and courses, such as the Degree in Culture and Solidarity, as well as other types of courses that take place throughout the year (for example, Monographic Course in “Cultures of East: China and Japan”, “Enjoy the Arts” or “Learn Traveling”.
All initiatives are open to both students and the rest of the citizens. In this sense, DeustoBide aims to be a generator of cultural experiences, favoring personal and citizen empowerment, a space for participation and social innovation.
