The Spanish Committee of Representatives of Persons with Disabilities (CERMI), has awarded these prizes in recognition of the work carried out by these bodies, organisations and people in support of the full integration and inclusion in society of persons with disabilities and their families. A total of 50 companies and bodies, both public and private, took part in these awards.
Apart from the University of Deusto, other prize-winning bodies, in their various categories, were:Social and Cultural Action, Sanitas Accesible; Action in support of Women with Disabilities, the Women?s Health Observatory (Ministry of Health and Consumption); Media such as the "En buena compañía" series; best Regional Action, the Community of Madrid; and best Institutional Action, Juan Carlos Rodriguez Ibarra.
The jury was made up of CERMI representatives: the chairman, Mario García; the secretary general, Luis Cayo; the chairman of ONCE?s General Board, Miguel Carballeda; the chairman of ONCE Foundation, Alberto Durán; the chairman of FIAPAS, M Luz Sanz Escudero; the chairman of ASPACE, Maite Lasala. In addition, the communication directors from various corporate groups also were part of the jury: Adolfo Jiménez, from Ibermutuamur; Mariola Arlandis, from Empresa y Sociedad Foundation; Gemma Giner, communication and CSR manager for Unión FENOSA; José García Pascual, from Pfizer; and José Luis Rodríguez, president general of Nueva Economía Forum. The General Manager of Servimedia, José Manuel González Huesa, acted as advisor, and Pilar Villarino, from CERMI, as secretary.
The Cermi.es awards ceremony will be held on 30 November at Puerta de América Hotel in Madrid, and it will be attended by personalities from the political and social sphere.
