DEUSTO has just published the resolution of the Benita Asas Manterola award, funded by Banco Sabadell Guipuzcoano, on the 21st October, recognizing the work of the following researchers in its different categories.
PhD Thesis (ex aequo):
- Estibaliz Linares: The Macho Digital Iceberg. Analysis, prevention and intervention of the digital sexist realities that are reproduced in the digital nativity of the CAE.
- Elena Ghidoni: Developing structural intersectionality in legal analysis: the case of stereotypes as forms of discrimination
Master Projects (Trabajos Fin de Máster, TFM):
- Lucía Carro: The Cinderella complex: experiences and reflections of young feminist women in the 21st century
Undergraduate Projects (Trabajo Fin de Grado, TFG):
- June Telletxea e Izaro Ziluaga: Care work at the center: The activism and claims of migrant domestic workers.
- Laura Molina: Maladaptive Schemas as an Explanation for Gender Differences in Eating Disorder Symptoms
- Maddalen Hernández: Research and development of a Product-Service System related to the actual needs of the menstrual cycle
The name of the award honors Benita Asas Manterola, a teacher and feminist born in Donostia in 1873. Co-founder of the newspaper El Pensamiento Femenino, she was president of the board of directors of the National Association of Spanish Women, and participated in the suffrage movement for the right to women's vote. She died in Bilbao in 1968
The main objective of this award is to recognize the DEUSTO undergraduate, master's and PhD students as promoters of the inclusion of the gender perspective in research. The call for this award is part of the Equality Plan of the University of Deusto.
