This event was attended by a large number of people throughout the morning. Young students could get information from the 'stands', where they were told about the details and requirements of the different degrees by lecturers from each faculty and school. Many of them wanted to visit the University, see the lecture rooms, the labs, and walk along the corridors to become familiar with the different facilities once they are students at Deusto. The Theatre Workshop livened up these guided tours with their performances, as well as the university 'tuna' with their songs.
Also, during this Open Day, the University of Deusto awarded the 'If I were a researcher' prizes corresponding to the contest organised during the Basque Country Research Fair held in Deusto last November. The award winners were: Iván Moyano, from the Cardenal Sandoval y Rojas Institute, in Aranda de Duero (Burgos); Elisabeth Balanza and Eneritz Fernández, both from the Saturnino de la Peña institute, in Sestao (Bizkaia). These awards, presented by José Luis del Val, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering-ESIDE, were an mp3 player, a National Geographic atlas and an annual suscription to the El Correo newspaper.
