Begoña García Zapirain receives C.H. Benito Menni extraordinary prize for Social Inclusion 2019

Begoña García Zapirain, principal researcher of the eVida group and Member of the Interdisciplinary Research Platform Ageing and Wellbeing has received the V Extraordinary Prize for Social Inclusion for her contribution to improving the living conditions of the disabled through science and new technologies. The journalist Ángel Expósito was also awarded the prize, which is granted yearly by the Centro Hospitalario Benito Menni de Valladolid C.H. 

According to Antonio Rodríguez, chief-director of Benito Menni de Valladolid C.H., “Begoña and Ángel showed that it is possible to go beyond work by humanizing their professions and adopting a more humanist approach when dealing with vulnerable and disfavored collectives”. The ceremony will take place in Valladolid on 24 April, San Benito Menni’s day.

Begoña García Zapirain is specialized in innovation and in the development of new technologies applied to health and in the use of new technologies to improve the living conditions through treatment and monitoring of diseases and problems which are associated with disabilities.
