Graduation ceremony of the 2021 graduating class of ADE + Law and ADE + Engineering in Industrial Technologies

The 9th of April was the day chosen to celebrate the graduation ceremony of the new graduates of the Bilbao campus in Business Administration and Management + Law and Business Administration and Management + Engineering in Industrial Technologies who completed their five years of studies in 2021.

After the mass celebrated in the gothic chapel of the University, the retinue of authorities and professors went to the auditorium. The ceremony began with the performance of Agur Jaunak by the Bilbao Cathedral Music Chapel choir.

On this occasion, the representatives of the alumni who addressed some moving words to those present about their experiences during their studies at Deusto were Guillermo Dorronsoro (ADE+ITI) and Eva Patricia Ais (ADE + Law).

This was followed by the swearing in of a new graduate in Spanish, Marta Castilla (ADE + ITI), and a new graduate, Mikel Etxebarria (ADE+Derecho), in Basque. After this solemn declaration, the Dean of DBS, Álvaro de la Rica, and the Dean of Law, Gema Tomás, presented them with their scholarships as a symbol of the award of the double degree obtained.

Then, the Secretary of the Faculty of Engineering, Amaia Méndez, who acted as master of ceremonies, named the rest of the new graduates, who took the podium to receive their scholarships.

The Rafael Luis Álvarez awards were then presented by Javier Déniz, President of the Bernaola Foundation, who explained the lines of action of this foundation that seeks intergenerational solidarity and the important legacy of Professor Álvarez, who endowed the awards to the best final degree projects carried out by the students. In the seventh edition, 2020-2021, the Social Impact Award was won by Aitor Muñozguren, David Mateos, Gorka Palacios and Ane Zuluaga for the Ibermetano S.A. project and, on the other hand, Rocío Cámara, Guillermo Dorronsoro, Javier Gonzáles and Ane Bayón for the Fondo Esperanza SpA project.

The deans of the three faculties involved in these degrees closed the ceremony by congratulating the new graduates: Gema Tomás, dean of Law, Álvaro de la Rica, dean of Deusto Business School and Asier Perallos, dean of Engineering. All those present left the auditorium after listening to the university anthem Gaudeamus Igitur.
