University of Deusto students attend a plenary session of Parliament

Bachelor's degree students in Law visited the Basque Parliament to attend a plenary session, where they were received by Basque President Iñigo Urkullu.

Thanks to close collaboration between the Law Faculty and Deusto Alumni, students had the opportunity to visit the Parliament on 13 June 2014. Deusto Alumni is a UD service which aims to assist students in enhancing their career prospects.

Set within the job counselling services offered by the UD, this visit focused on giving students a closer look at the world of politics as a possible career, encouraging them to take an active role in improving society.

Law Faculty lecturers Gonzalo Martínez y Vega Arnáez and Itxaso Muñiz accompanied the group on behalf of DeustoAlumni. Upon arrival, they were received by Santiago Larrazabal, UD Law lecturer who is now on leave of absence and is the current Director of the Secretariat and Parliamentary Relations, together with Parliament President Bakartxo Tejeria.

Following the session, the students were received by Basque President Iñigo Urkullu and Government Spokesman and Counsellor of Public Administration and Justice, Josu Erkoreka.

Arrival.
9:15 Welcome by the President of the Basque Parliament.
9:30 First part of the plenary session.
11:00 Talk and demonstration of the Basque Parliament's information tools by Prof. Santiago Larrazabal.
12:00 Greeting and photograph with the Basque President and greeting from Government Spokesman and Head of Public Administration and Justice, Josu Erkoreka.
