The University of Deusto has been one of the great protagonists in the tenth edition of the Master Glass Design Contest organized by Vidrala, which this year has broken record participation with more than 140 projects submitted by students from Spain, Portugal and the UK.
The first prize went to Pablo Ugarte, a student of Deusto, for NEWTON, an innovative cider container that reinterprets the ritual of pouring with a functional, sustainable and visually appealing design. In addition, María Arroyo, also from Deusto, received a runner-up prize for AMPELOS, an elegant design inspired by amphorae for marketing must.
With two award-winning projects and the presence of Professor Marcelo Leslabay on the jury, Deusto has demonstrated its leadership in industrial design training. The jury particularly valued the creativity, technical feasibility and sustainability of the proposals.
The tenth edition of the contest has reaffirmed the role of this competition as a reference platform for young designers, promoting ideas that transform traditional packaging and bet on new consumer habits.
