The dark side of the social networks, an interdisciplinary approach by Estibaliz Linares, José Gaviria and Borja Sanz

During the last years, the raise of social networks has shown the power of the information and communication technologies and had created another life, a virtual one. But this new life has also a dark side. Cyber-bulling or the use of the social networks for terrorism activities are a couple of examples of this dark side.

In this seminar, Estibaliz Linares, José Gaviria and Borja Sanz focused this problem from an interdisciplinary point of view. They saw what tools can be developed from the ICT technologies to fight against these problems, and why it is necessary the point of view of social science experts to make these tools effective. A researcher from social science presented some real cases where this dark side of technologies arises. They saw the problem from a practical point of view, with different research projects that has been developed in the last years.
