On October 5, the capital of Biscay celebrated the Open Bilbao Festival (formerly Open House Bilbao) and once again, Deusto joined the initiative and opened its doors to those interested in learning about the historical and artistic heritage of the University. The academic center offered guided tours to the buildings of La Literaria, La Comercial and the Library-CRAI. The visits will take place in the morning and afternoon in the case of La Literaria and La Comercial, and in the morning only for the Biblioteca-CRAI.
Open is a festival of architecture and urbanism that consists of opening the doors of different buildings in the city free of charge. As part of the Open House Europe 2024 program, which focuses on accessibility and inclusion, in this edition Open Bilbao places special emphasis on these issues. From guided walks led by social design experts to creative workshops on inclusive urbanism, the program is designed to engage participants from all walks of life.
The University of Deusto is one of the 72 emblematic buildings of the city that participate in Open Bilbao, an activity that aims to bring architecture and urban planning, but also history and culture to the citizens, because architecture is often far from the daily life of citizens.
