Lecturer Javier Viaña will represent Europe at the ILAT Conference

Lecturer in  International Private Law, Javier Viaña will speak on 27 February at the ILAT Conference which will take place in Miami. This meeting will deal with international litigation, arbitrage and transactions and will be atended by a thousand lawyers. 
 
Javier Viaña will discuss  the differentiating aspects of “Common and Civil Law” and the relationships between lawyers and clients, focusing on the ethical implications and their regulation in the European system.  
 
He will also examine relevant questions such as deontological concepts, motives, European codification and review the fundamental principles of lawyer’s tasks and actions. 
 
This will be his second trip to America this year to take part in a conference on International Arbitration. Last August he attended the Annual Conference of the ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) in Panama. 
 
Viaña will be the only European representative at the ILAT Conference belonging to the Florida Bar Association in the USA. 0}
 
The ILAT is an international conference for American lawyers which will take place in Florida this year organised by the Miami Bar Association. 1000 lawyers are expected to attend the conference, where speakers will discuss extraterritorial conflicts in US jurisdiction.
