The University of Deusto holds the Graduation ceremony of the New Graduates and PhDs.

Last Saturday 27 January, the University of Deusto celebrated St. Thomas Aquinas' day during the Graduation ceremony of the New Graduates in 2005/2006 academic year. During this event, the graduation ceremony of the new graduates from the Faculty of Theology and new PhDs was held. In addition, the UD End-of-Degree Awards to the most outstanding students of the year, and the Vicente de Mendieta and Lambarri Foundation awards to the best students in the different Engineering degrees taught at this University were presented.

This ceremony was opened with a Mass concelebrated in the Gothic Chapel of the University. Then, the Graduation ceremony was held in the Main Ceremonial Hall, conducted by the Secretary-General José Luis Avila. First, the End-of-Degree Awards were presented to the most outstanding students, followed by the presentation of the Vicente de Mendieta and Lambarri Foundation Awards to the best students in the different Engineering degrees taught at this University.

The ceremony continued with the graduation of the new graduates from the Faculty of Theology and new PhDs from the University of Deusto. A speech from the Rector, Jaime Oraá and the university anthem Gaudeamos Igitur , brought this academic ceremony to a close.
