The Commission’s Innovation Agenda was adopted last week with the aim of turning Europe into a world-leading innovation powerhouse and reducing the innovation divide towards a true pan-European innovation ecosystem.
The five objectives of the agenda are
to help companies scale up;
- enable experimentation and public procurement;
- strengthen innovation ecosystems;
- foster talent; and
- improve policy making tools.
The Agenda is broadly praised for identifying the most important challenges and bottlenecks for innovation in Europe, for attempting to connect up the various funding schemes available while establishing a link between cohesion and innovation funding.
