The award presentation ceremony was held within the framework of the 8th Family Business Conference, which has been organised by ESTE faculty-University of Deusto, in collaboration with the Antonio Aranzabal Foundation since 2000. This eighth conference was entitled ?La innovación:ejemplos y propuestas para la empresa familiar vasca", and it was the topic of the lectures delivered by Gaizka Zulaika and Luciano Berrocal. The closing lecture entitled ?La innovación:ejemplos y propuestas para la empresa familiar vasca" was given by Pedro Luis Uriarte, chairman of Innobasque.
Winners in previous years were: Angel Iglesias for his work at Angel Iglesias, S.A. ? Ikusi, and Ignacio Garmendia for his work carried out at Construcciones Electromecánicas LETAG; Juan Celaya for the development of companies like Cegasa, Tuboplast and Hidrono, Miguel Odriozola for his work at Industrias Lagun-Artea, the Gasteluiturri-Salterain family for the development of Fundiciones Garbi, and Patricio Echeverria for the role he has played at Corporación Patricio Echeverria.
