The Pedro Arrupe Human Rights Institute, in collaboration with the Embassy of Canada in Spain and the Canada Foundation, hosted the Points of View Photography Exhibition, owned by the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg.

The photographs offer glimpses into how people perceive human rights around them – rights related to inclusion and diversity, freedom of expression; reconciliation and the rights of individuals and the environment. They result from a call made by the Canadian Museum for Human Rights inviting people across Canada to take part in a competition where the best photographs representing the different ways of understanding human rights would be selected to be part of a large national exhibition.

These images convey different ways to express our opinions, beliefs, thoughts and feelings within various groups and communities. They prompt us to consider diversity in our daily lives and remind us that we have the opportunity to look for other perspectives.

What are the different forms of expression?
What happens when there is a conflict of opinions? How can equal participation in community life be guaranteed?
What does diversity or full integration of all people mean?
