Bilbao Campus
Both entities, in close relation with society in Vizcaya, have a long social tradition of committment to training and information. It is from this combination of interests that the collaboration agreement results, to promote training activities for adults at this University as well as other activities aimed at disseminating knowledge and general information through Consumer Eroski magazine, published by Eroski Foundation.
The aim of these training activities on campus is to promote critical thinking and to encourage the acquisition of new skills and new knowledge. They also seek to stimulate cognitive functions in older learners as well as to provide areas of common interest and new social support networks. The first initiative proposed under this agreement is the creation of four new lifelong learning courses, which will increase the already existing courses for next academic year 2007/2008. These courses will focus on humanities-related issues of clear interest to a large number of people. More specifically, issues covered will include: how memory works, the history of beauty, the keys to practise tolerance and accept plurality, and the guidelines to develop self-knowledge from a psychological approach.
In addition, this agreement envisages the collaboration between Consumer Eroski magazine and the website consumer.es and lecturers from FICE Faculty at the University of Deusto, who will contribute contents to the Consumer Eroski project.
