On October 24, the University of Deusto held the graduation ceremony for the 23rd graduating class in Culture and Solidarity, a training program of DeustoBide - School of Citizenship. On this day, “a moment of great importance in the framework of the university mission” - in the words of the rector Juan José Etxeberria - the participants in the monographic course “The world today. Big questions of the present: from international relations to artificial intelligence”.

The ceremony also served to assess the university rigor and orientation to the transformation of society of the DeustoBide courses, an adult training course which last year was attended “with great success” by more than 1,100 people, of whom 538 attended the Bilbao campus and 125 the Donostia-San Sebastian campus. “I hope,” said the rector, ”that the University's contribution has gone beyond the learning of new content and that it has surprised you from an academic point of view, but, above all, that it has made you feel part of our university community.

In addition to congratulating the graduates, the rector of Deusto praised DeustoBide's collaborators. Thus, he pointed out that there are 18 collaboration agreements for the development of continuous and lifelong learning activities with leading cultural and social organizations in the territory, as well as with the municipalities of Basauri, Galdakao, Getxo and Azpeitia. Among them, he highlighted the agreement with the 'la Caixa' Foundation, with 10 years of life, which has allowed “to give a renewed focus to the projects, increase their social impact and further strengthen this university project”. Full text.
