The University of Deusto takes part in the commemoration of the 500th anniversary of St. Francis Xavier's birth

Last 7 April, a delegation from the University of Deusto, headed byRector Jaime Oraá, the Deputy Rector for the Mission Development, José María Guibert, and the Vice-Rector for Students Affairs and Language Policy, Rosa Miren Pagola, went to Javier (Navarre) to participate in the main event for the commemoration of the 450th anniversary of St Ignatius of Loyola's birth, and the 500th anniversary of the births of St. Francis Xavier and Blessed Fabro. This event was attended by the King and Queen of Spain, and the Superior General of the Company of Jesus, Peter Hans Kolvenbach.

One day before travelling to Javier, the head of the jesuit order Peter Hans Kolvenbach, made a private visit to the University of Deusto, of which he is Great Chancellor. During his stay at this academic institution, he met the Rector and his team, as well as the heads of the Company of Jesus.
