Researchers from Deusto jointly with other researchers from Biocruces and EUNEIZ have published the article entitled “Effects of a 12-week exercise intervention on glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c)” in RETOS.

Numerous studies suggest that physical exercise can be an effective strategy to reduce the incidence in certain types of cancers and, as well as it also brings great physical and psychological benefits for people suffering from this disease. In this research, the authors fail to demonstrate the effectiveness of a combined 12-week physical exercise can help glycated hemoglobin to be reduced in patients with cancer without developing significant changes within their body composition.

Although further studies (on the effects of physical intervention) and with a larger sample are essential, the results from this research are promising to reveal the benefits of physical exercise in patients with cancer.
