The University of Deusto hosted on 28 November a training session on gender and interculture organised by UNRWA Euskadi (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East). The event aimed to provide knowledge and practical tools to apply a Intercultural and Gender Approach in Humanitarian Action based on the case of the Occupied Palestinian Territory in order to improve the quality and effectiveness of humanitarian action. The training session followed a feminist perspective and highlighted the role of feminist and women's organisations as humanitarian actors and agents of change in their communities. Students of the Master Programme International Humanitarian Action (NOHA) learned about the Palestinian - Israeli conflict from a historical approach and the humanitarian impact of the Israeli occupation on the Palestinian Territory from a gender perspective, including the humanitarian situation of the Palestine refugee population.
