The Institute of Leisure Studies is an academic institution created in 1988 within the Faculty of Philosophy and Education Sciences at the University of Deusto. It was developed two years after the first 100th Anniversary of the University of Deusto, with the aim of responding to the concerns emerging in our environment.
The Institute currently has a team of 12 people and we collaborate with more than thirty researchers at the University of Deusto. At the Institute of Leisure Studies we carry out a large number of activities in the three main university areas: research, education and transfer.
We are committed to developing an active, committed citizenship, with research excellence in leisure that promotes human development and we also offer a wide range of courses. The following sections include the main activities that are carried out at the Institute.
