The University of Deusto recruited 10 excellent international Early Stage Researchers in 2020 and 9 in 2021 for high-quality PhD training in the framework of the 6i-Dirs project, supported and co-funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie programme of the European Commission and over 40 partners.

In line with the European Commission’s objective of open research, we have started a series called Meet the Fellows of the 6i-Dirs COFUND project! on the university’s LinkedIn page with the aim of bringing the Fellows and their research projects closer to the university’s community and the general public. Each month we will be introducing a new Fellow to you.

To kick off our series, we are proud to present our 6i Dirs Fellow, Alexandra Zagrebelnaia!
Alexandra is a PhD candidate from Moldova and carries out her doctoral research at the Institute of Leisure Studies of the University of Deusto, under the supervision of Fernando Bayón Martin. Her research focuses on socially oriented audience development strategies for the Art Fairs in Spain and Italy.

Before starting her PhD, Alexandra got a BA in Modern Languages and MA in Euroculture, the latter as a BMU-MID Erasmus Mundus grantee in 2015. She has also gained valuable work experience managing exhibitions and collaborating with different international art projects.

Combining her practical experience and theoretical knowledge, Alexandra is interested in providing functional solutions in terms of audience development and social issues to the cultural institutions and organizations. In addition to that, as part of the research team Leisure and Human Development, Alexandra is involved in the development of European projects.
