AS FABRIK initiative seeks to improve local businesses competitiveness and the consolidation of Zorrotzaurre area as an innovative and reference ecosystem in the field of advanced services for industry 4.0 and the digital economy.
AS FABRIK Bilbao emphasizes the importance of public-private collaboration as a transversal axis for the development of the city. Bilbao City Hall, leader of EU co-funded project, will cooperate with strategic partners such as Bilbao Ekintza, Deusto Foundation-Orkestra, EIKEN, GAIA, IDOM, Mondragón Promotion Center, Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa, Mondragon Innovation and Knowledge y Mondragon Unibertsitatea Enpresagintza.
The following activities are foreseen:
Training courses for students, entrepreneurs and professionals designed to address the challenges of the 4.0 industry in the digital economy;
Networking actions among the main stakeholders or interest groups of both the public and private sectors to coordinate an effective and efficient common strategy for meeting the needs of the industrial sector;
Proposals to stimulate the launch of Bilbao start-ups working on technology, specialization and intelligence that need industry 4.0 to position themselves internationally;
Implementation of an observatory and laboratory of ideas, which will analyze trends in technology, industry 4.0 and digital economy, and will identify the challenges faced by local companies and propose innovative solutions to them.
Bilbao City Hall’s idea is to create an ecosystem of talent and innovation, which will contribute to the development of local knowledge services and to the promotion of an industrial sector actively involved in the process of intelligent transformation.
