The role of the Ada Byron Award as a pioneer initiative to break down stereotypes and acknowledge the role of women in science has been recently highlighted in an article published at the jornal “Páginas de mujer emprendedora”.
This article, written by PhD Cristina Gimenez Elorriaga, summarises the history of the Award since its creation in 2014. The Award was created with the aim of publicly recognising and giving visibility to women's work in science and technology.
Despite its short life, the value of the Ada Byron Award has been acknowledged at the national level (MARTÍNEZ, Capitolina Díaz; GÓMEZ, Araceli, 2015) and since its creation it has doubled the number of applications received.
