Sebastián Zamorano es PDI en la Facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad de Deusto. Posee un Doctorado en Ciencias de la Ingeniería, mención Modelación Matemática de la Universidad de Chile y es Ingeniero Matemático de la Universidad de Santiago de Chile, donde recientemente fue Profesor Asociado. Durante el año académico 2023-2024 ejecutó en la Universidad Friedrich-Alexander, Erlangen, Alemania, la beca Research Fellowship for Experienced Researchers de la fundación Alexander von Humboldt. Su investigación se centra en la teoría de control y problemas inversos para ecuaciones diferenciales parciales y ecuaciones no locales, como también el control óptimo de dichas ecuaciones. Cuenta con más de 15 artículos científicos publicados, numerosas charlas y organización de eventos científicos. Ha guiado dos tesis de Maestría y cinco tesis de Ingeniería Matemática (Chile).
