The University of Deusto is now a Collaborating Partner of the European Union funded Joint Action- Addressing Chronic Diseases and Healthy Ageing Across the Lifecycle (JA-CHRODIS). JA-CHRODIS is the largest Joint Action co-financed under the EU Public Health Programme to date and brings together over 60 associated and collaborating partners from 26 Member States.
These partners work together to identify, validate, exchange and disseminate good practice on chronic diseases across EU Member States and to facilitate its uptake across local, regional and national borders. The focus is health promotion and primary prevention as well as the management of diabetes and multi-morbid chronic conditions.
Heather Rogers and Begoña García Zapirain are the contact points and will be participating in the implementation of Work Package 5. WP5's goal is to study good practices in health promotion and primary prevention of chronic disease, and examine their transferability across diverse EU cities and regions.
Last November, Heather Rogers attended a JA-CHRODIS WP5 meeting in Villnuis, Lithuania, in which various good practices were identified for further study.
