The Covenant on Demographic Change was launched on 7 December 2015 at the Committee of the Regions (Brussels).
The Covenant on Demographic Change has engaged local and regional authorities (in our case, the Provincial Government of Biscay), and other relevant stakeholders (UDEUSTO), committed to develop environments that support active and healthy ageing and contribute to increase the healthy life expectancy, enhance independent living and well-being of older persons and create a society for all ages.
During the month of January, ten European representatives were elected members of the Board of Directors, among who was Antonia Caro (UDEUSTO). Besides, Biscay presence was reinforced by the appointment of Sergio Murillo (PGB) as treasurer of the Board.
Recently, the members of the Board of Directors have met in Groningen during theconference Build the Future of Health organised by the City of Groningen on 1-4 June, with the active participation of our representatives. Next meeting of the Board of Directors will be held during the Open Days organized by the Committee of the Regions from 10 to 13 October 2016.
