Undergraduate enrolment

Refunds and deductions

Withdrawal

In the case of withdrawal, the entire amount of the fees paid will be refunded once enrolment has been cancelled.

Cancellation of enrolment

Applications for cancellation of enrolment submitted within 14 days of the date of enrolment will be exempt from payment and, where appropriate, students will be entitled to a full refund. This right of withdrawal, as established in RDL 1/2007, of 16 November, Consolidated Text of the General Law for the Defence of Consumers and Users, (art. 68 et seq.) will not result in a refund of the pre-enrolment fee because the service was provided before enrolment was made.

The University of Deusto will reimburse the amount of the pre-enrolment fee to those students who are unable to take up their place because they have not met the legal requirements established for admission to the programme or those for entry. This reimbursement shall be made upon request, once the applicant has provided supporting evidence. In no case shall the fact that the candidate has been admitted to other studies be a justified reason.

Once this period has elapsed, the student will be required to pay the full amount of the contribution fee.

First semester subjects

Following expiry of the previous deadline, applications for cancellation of enrolment submitted prior to 6 October will be exempt from payment of tuition fees for the subjects concerned. Applications submitted from 6 October to 5 November will be charged 50% of the corresponding tuition fees. Cancellations requested after the closing date will not be eligible for refunds or reductions in fees.

Second semester subjects

Applications for cancellation of enrolment submitted prior to 5 March will be exempt from payment of tuition fees for the subjects concerned. Applications submitted from 5 March to 12 April, both inclusive, will be charged 50% of the corresponding tuition fees. Cancellations requested after the closing date will not be eligible for refunds or reductions in fees.

Fee reductions for benefit recipients under the Basque Government - University of Deusto Agreement

Through the Agreement between the Basque Government and the University of Deusto, UD students who can accredit any of the following conditions are eligible to receive the benefits established yearly by the Regional Ministry of Education, Universities and Research.

The Basque Government undertakes to contribute a certain amount of money to these groups. In the event that the amounts requested by all the students entitled to this right exceed the aforementioned amount, the amount of the aid shall be reduced proportionally according to the number of students entitled to it.

Applications may be submitted under the following conditions:

  • General or special category large families
  • Victims of terrorist attacks or relatives of victims of a terrorist attack
  • Students with a 33% degree of disability or more or a family member with a 65% disability
  • Victims of gender-based violence or relatives of victims of gender-based violence
  • Asylum seeker, beneficiary of stateless international protection

Reductions applicable for each case will be based on the official fee set for each programme and not on the tuition fees for these studies at our University.

In order to apply for these deductions, the corresponding form available on the extranet must be completed and submitted to the General Secretariat with the required supporting documents indicated on the back of the application form no later than 30 September 2021.

Applications for these fee reductions must be submitted yearly.

Once enrolment has been duly completed, the University will submit the declaration stating the persons applying for benefits and the corresponding amounts to the Basque Government. Once the list of applicants who meet the requirements has been submitted to this body, the amounts paid will be refunded.

Once a refund has been made, recipients will be notified by email. This payment shall be credited to the authorised account by bank transfer. Under no circumstances can the payment exceed the amount stipulated by the Basque Government in the agreement signed with the UD.
