    ABOUT THE COURSE

Traditionally, criminal law has been more severe with the most socioeconomically disadvantaged people. This severity is accentuated if the person who comes into contact with the is a woman. On the one hand, when she is accused of certain crimes, such as the case of the muleras, who come from the most marginalized sectors of the society. On the other hand, when she is the victim of a crime, since it is not even two decades since the first crimes related to gender violence were included in the Penal Code.

The purpose of this course is to study how criminal law deals with women, both as offenders and as victims.
