      YOUR COURSE PLAN

      STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE

      The course is structured as follows: 

      INDUCTION: participants personal work to get initiated into the topic of the course.

      COURSE CONTENT: in order to work on the content, the course is divided in five sections. Each section combines one live video conference class, combined with online learning through resources and activities to be done before and after the video conference.

      CLOSING SESSION: 1 hour video conference session to sum up the program, solve questions arose during the course and provide general feedback about the requested activities.

      HOW YOU WILL LEARN

      METHODOLOGY

      The methodology of this course, as al Deusto Summer School courses, will be based on the University of Deusto Learning Model, adapted to distance learning. This model enables the autonomous learning of the students and encourages the development of knowledge, skills, attitudes, capacities and values.

      LEARNING METHODS COMBINED

      Combination of live video conference classes with online learning through resources and activities on the university's learning platform.

      Use of learning materials in different formats for the presentation of theoretical content.

      ACTIVITIES BEYOND THEORY

      Carrying out different learning activities to verify the acquisition of both theoretical and practical knowledge and the acquisition of skills.

      Monitoring of and supervision of the work of the students.

      Lecturers

      • María Silvestre Cabrera (Coordinator): María is a Doctor in Political Science and Sociology and is currently the Director of the Doctoral Programme in Human Rights at the University of Deusto, as well as the Principal Researcher of the Social Values research team, which represents Spain in the European Social Survey. She has been the Director of the Basque Institute for Women – Emakunde, President of the Basque Association of Sociology and Vice-President of the Spanish Federation of Sociology. María has coordinated and contributed in numerous local, national and international research and innovation projects, and she is currently the Scientific Coordinator of the European Commission’s project GEARING-Roles.       • María López Belloso (Coordinator): María earned her PhD in Human Rights from the University of Deusto, and received the Brunet Award in 2017. She has a solid background in research, both in scientific production and in research management, as well as teaching experience. She focuses on the emerging possibilities and potential application of new technologies to the promotion and advocacy of Human Rights. She is now the Project Manager in the Horizon 2020 GEARING-Roles project. Profile
      • Lorena Fernández Álvarez: Lorena is a Computer Engineer, currently the Digital Identity Director at the University of Deusto and a member of the European Commission’s expert group in “Gendered Innovations” that analyses the impact of gender in Artificial Intelligence. She has been a judge in the Ada Byron award to the technological woman and is part in the Inspira STEAM project (H2020) that seeks to foment the scientific-technological talent among girls.Profile.
      • María Luz Guenaga Gomez: Maria Luz is a doctor in Computer Engineering from the University of Deusto, where she currently teaches courses related to Programming, Interaction and Multimedia, and manages and coordinates numerous projects at the national and European levels. Her research activity focuses on the use of technology in education, learning of STEM areas (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths), the promotion of scientific-technological vocations and learning analytics.       • Fernanda Campanini Vilhena (Coordinator): Fernanda is a lawyer and a Ph.D. fellow in the Human Rights Programme at the University of Deusto. She has experience in working with domestic violence against women and children in the Brazilian Public Prosecution’s Office, is currently a Research Assistant in the H2020 GEARING-Roles project at the University of Deusto, and is part of the coordination team and the core research group of the project.       • Octavio Salazar Benítez: Octavio is a jurist specialized in Constitutional Law, known by his expertise in gender equality and new masculinities. He is a member of the Feminist Network of Constitutional Law and the Network of Men for Equality. Recently, he received the Progressive Man Award 2017 from the Federation of Progressive Women.       • Alazne Mujika Alberdi: Alazne is a doctor in Economy and Business Management from the University of Deusto, where she is currently teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate courses on Economic Development, Competitiveness, Communication and Business Management. Alazne is also a runner and she has researched on the incidence of long-distance running in the adoption and promotion of healthy lifestyles from the perspective of gender and age. Profile.
      • Ane Arbillaga Etxarri: Ane is the Vice Dean and Coordinator of the undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy at the University of Deusto. She is an expert physiotherapist in the cardio-respiratory system and a Doctor in biomedicine. She has extensive experience in the study of the determinants of physical activity and in the design of interventions to improve physical activity in patients with chronic respiratory diseases. She is a member of the Respiratory Physiotherapy Area of the Spanish Society of Pulmonology and Thoracic Surgery (SEPAR) and Coordinator of the Emerging Group of Respiratory Physiotherapy.
      • Leire Gartzia: PhD in Organizational Psychology. Professor and researcher at University of Deusto, expert in organizational behaviour, including leadership, teams development, crisis management, emotional skills and understanding of organisational functioning from a gender perspective.       CERTIFICATE

      Upon completion of the course, participants will receive an attendance evidence document proving the participating in this 1 ECTS course.
