General aims:

To reach level B2 of the Common European Framework.

Specific aims:

At this level, learners should be able to :

• handle the main structures of the language with some confidence
• use a range of vocabulary
• use appropriate communicative strategies in a variety of situations
• show understanding of gist, detail and text structure when they read written texts of various kinds (informative and general interest)
• write non-specialised text types such as letters, articles, reports and compositions for a given purpose and target reader, covering a range of topics
• show understanding of detail and gist when they listen to spoken language
• exchange personal and factual information as well as expressing and finding out about attitudes and opinions in the course of converstion
