Curriculum

Your training - Languages

From the basics to internships in social centres

1st and 2nd years: Become acquainted with the foundations of Social Work and everything related to people, their surroundings and human interaction.

3rd year: Focus on social intervention strategies, identifying major psychosocial problems and practising the most important technique: social diagnosis.

4th year: Gain insight into a chosen area through electives, a year-long internship in a centre, and elaborating an Undergraduate Final Year Project. Possibility to study the first semester at a foreign university.


Providing new insight

Through elective subjects, students specialize in one of these areas:

  • Specialist social intervention with children and adolescents, persons with disabilities, the mentally ill and the elderly.
  • Social inclusion and human development, which consists of working with groups and communities suffering from social exclusion for different reasons.


Courses offered in three languages

The 240 ECTS credits envisaged the degree studies are distributed in core, compulsory and elective courses, internships and the Undergraduate Final Year Project.

Students may combine courses in Spanish, English and Basque. They have the option to study the required number of credits in Basque to obtain the language certificate for the C1 level (Basque Official Gazette, April 16/ 2012). The language of instruction for each subject is specified in the studies programme.
