Orkestra will be organising the 2020 Virtual symposium of the International Journal of Action Research on 1-2 of October 2020 (with a special session for PhD students on 30 September). The symposium will serve as a meeting point for researchers, consultants and activists around the world interested in sharing expectations, experiences and challenges when doing action research.
The symposium will develop around four main themes:
- "Action Research, bridging generations, fields and roles”. The discussion will gather action researchers from different generations, knowledge fields and with experience in university research, consultancy and activism.
- "Action Research, policy and politics". The discussion counts with the contributions from people with experience in the fields of policy analysis, transition research and territorial development.
- “Action Research, concepts and practices”. The discussion aims to share experiences, but also theory and how to construct theory from action research experiences.
- "The perspective of policy makers as stakeholders in action research". This part of the virtual symposium is designed to be developed as a dialogue process where researchers will be able to discuss with policy makers about policy makers' experiences with action research.
