DEUSTO Researchers Diego López-de-Ipiña (member of the Strengthening Participation Interdisciplinary Research Platform), Diego Casado-Mansilla, Javier García-Zubia published an article on The Conversation, discussing how data democratisation can improve decision making.

According to the researchers data science can help tackling the great challenges of democratic societies. However, it is important to understand that having open data is not enough. Data must be of high quality and fair to facilitate to their processing and understanding not only by data scientists and epidemiologists, but also by the general public. Only in this way we can advance towards the democratisation of data and improve our decision-making capacity.
