In line with the global, european and regional/local agendas (UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development), programmes (Horizon Europe) and initiatives (EU Digital Strategy, EU Green Deal, European Pillar of Social Rights, Spanish Recovery Plan, Euskadi PCTI 2030), this interdisciplinary group addresses the manifold challenges of the TRIPLE TRANSITION pillars:

• Digital: analysing barriers and drivers of social and technological innovations in key sectors at local, regional, national, global level and developing technological solutions for the energy and ecological transition towards sustainable human development;
• Green: through the analysis of consumers’ behavioral models, researchers design buldings renovation actions. This approach includes a social dimension, from the design and execution phases to the progress monitoring, in a self-feeding process. The objective is to design technological, social and green innovations in collaboration with local communities and social enterprises playing an important role for a JUST TRANSITION and a sustainable recovery.
• Social: identification and definition of social indicators to estimate and face green transition’s social impacts (on wellbeing, education, social justice, ethics…) for more comprehensive approaches and solutions to tackle the triple transition challenges. The European Green Deal grants a key role to the European Pillar of Social Rights (EPSR), in guiding the transition to inclusive environmental sustainability. The 20 principles of the EPSR should lead towards ‘a transition to climate-neutrality, digitalisation and demographic change that is socially fair and just’, ensuring that the European Green Deal and the 2030 Digital Decade benefit the whole society.

•  The core group focuses on providing future-oriented policy recommendations and co-created research and innovation responses for policy action and meeting end users’ needs:

• mainstreaming the imperative societal transformations required for an active responsive and responsible citizenry able to drive (not to react) to the rapid techno-digital and green transitions;
• proposing systemic, inclusive, co-creative solutions to the current glocal challenges,generating positive socio-economic and environmental impact.

This core group is the result of the co-evolution and merge of two previous collaborations (the core groups Social Innovation for Technological Transformation for Global Challenges and WISE) having converged to a more comprehensive experts pool to jointly tackle the triple transition.
